One of our core goals at Recess is to create community by way of providing a space and a structure for people to come together around the shared goal of raising healthy families. We're on a mission to connect parents, caregivers, families and organizations that are all eager to learn from each other, thereby improving our collective community's ability to flourish. Join us!
CPR & COFFEE
In the spirit of community, connectedness and healthy families, let's get together, drink coffee and learn CPR. Dana Lazarovitz Thompson, local mom and Registered Nurse will review infant/child/adult CPR and choking rescue.
NOTE: If you're interested in certification (good for 2 years via ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute) enroll in the full Infant, Child & Adult CPR and Chokesaving class.
PARENTING BY CONNECTION
We're all in it together...and it's easier when we have support. Come get a refresher talk on Hand in Hand Parenting tools, share listening time with other parents to offload the stresses of parenting, and connect with community.
Hand-in-Hand Parenting seeks to provide parents with insights, skills, and support they need to listen to and connect with their children in a way that allows each child to thrive.
NEW PARENT GROUPS
COMING SOON: Meet up with other new parents to learn about your child and how to support their development. You'll gain information on how to set up an environment for the child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing.
Connect with other mamas and papas as we introduce simple ways to help your child grow, songs and activities that are fun for you and baby, and specific toys that can meet their developmental needs.
