Do i need to be a member to bring my child to the play space? 

  1. As a member, you can come to recess anytime during open hours (9:30-6 m, t, th, f,  and 9-1 s, s). 

  2. Prior to joining you may come by for a free tour any afternoon we are open (recess is closed on wednesdays)--no need to schedule it.  If you’d like to stay and play, you can purchase a one-time-only preview pass (one per family $18).  If you join the same day, the fee will be applied towards membership.

  3. A limited number of pre-paid Playspace passes are available for non-members to come & play on select afternoons.  More information can be found here.

How do memberships work?

  1. You can either join monthly or annually. If you join annually, you get one month free.  If you join monthly, there is a minimum term of four months. 

  2. As a recess member, you’ll receive unlimited access to the playspace, discounts on classes, discounts on b-day party rentals, invitations to special events & discounts on services with recess’ partners.

If I’m a member, can my nanny/grandparent/friend/babysitter bring my child to play?

  1. Each membership includes access for parents to bring their child(ren), plus up to 3 other authorized caregivers.  Those can include grandparents, friends who help out, nannies, or other caretakers. 

Do I need to be a member to sign up for children’s classes?

  1. NO. There are 2 options for non-members when it comes to pricing for kids classes--you can do “class only” or “class and play (which includes access to the play space before or after class!)

I’d like to come for a massage, private pilates session, class, or parent education workshop.  Are those only open to members?

  1. NO.  All adult services are offered to non-members, however member discounts apply to classes & workshops.

Can I bring my own snacks to recess?

  1. YES.  You are welcome to bring your own (nut-free) snacks.
