 Kristin’s philosophy is to focus on evaluating the source of pain and discomfort and treat it through manual methods such as myofascial release, trigger point, soft and deep tissue massage, muscle energy techniques, and joint mobilization. Kristin believes that teaching people how to move from a place of strength and stability will lead to decreased injury and pain. Kristin is also a certified Pilates instructor and finds great benefit in combining Pilates based rehab with traditional physical therapy based exercises. rates: 60 min session: $90                                                 schedule an appointment: email the front desk *childcare is available in the playspace during appointments. please inquire when you book your appointment feedback: Sure this place is great for parents, but it's also fantastic for expecting parents too.  I am 32 weeks pregnant and just had a pre-natal massage with Kristin. Not only is she the co-owner of Recess, but also a physical therapist, massage therapist, pilates instructor, and mother to the coolest 3 year old I've ever met. Anyway, after describing a few aches and pains that cropped up during the past few weeks, Kristin gave me the most intense and relieving massage. That night, my husband and I had our first restless night of sleep in a looooong time! I wasn't tossing and turning, no leg cramps, butt aches, rib pain. It was amazing! I'll be back for more of that and look forward to the expecting parent workshops and pre-natal pilates.  I am glad I found this place before having a baby!  I'll know just where to go when I have a newborn and feel like I want to get out of the house, but dont' quite feel comfortable being out in the real world just yet. from another patient (via yelp)... By the way, if ever Kristin's booked, you'll do well to schedule a massage with Lucia -- who also has hands from the heavens that can unkink any knot in your back.
